How much travel currency should I carry?
We highly recommend that you take approximately $400 in travel currency cash to get your trip off to the right start. You should get enough travel currency for at least a couple of days, especially if you are arriving on the weekend or public holidays. If you don’t plan ahead, you will encounter the inconvenience of having to find locations to exchange money throughout your visit, as well as service fees you will have to pay each time.
Should I bring anything other than cash?
You should consider carrying your funds several different ways when travelling. Bring a convenient amount of travel currency in cash, an internationally accepted credit or debit card, and travellers cheques.
What is a Euro?
The Euro is the official currency of 16 of the 27 member states of the European Union. The states, collectively known as the Eurozone, are Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain.
Can I buy currency online if I live outside of Canada?
Unfortunately this service is only available to Canadian residents who have a Canadian VISA credit card.
How much travel currency can I purchase online?
The transaction limits are as follows:
Minimum purchase amount - $300 CAD
Maximum purchase amount - $2,500 CAD
Is purchasing online secure?

Is my privacy protected?
Yes, your personal information is used in accordance with Travelex’s privacy policy.
Is delivery guaranteed?
All legitimate orders are 100% guaranteed: if you do not receive what you ordered, or it does not reach you in the timeframe you requested, Travelex will arrange to have your order picked up and promptly refund you upon receipt, via company cheque.
Where can I cash my travellers cheques?
Travellers cheques are recognized worldwide and can be used as cash at most merchants or exchanged for cash at banks, Foreign Exchange Bureau and at any Travelex retail location.
Are travellers cheques refundable if stolen or lost?
Yes, in the event that your travellers cheques are lost or stolen, contact AMEX at 1-800-221-7282. Service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Your claim will be processed and a refund arranged as long as you have complied with the terms of purchase. Additional information on refunds will be included with your order.
